We went to In-N-Out Burger in West Jordan last week and got burgers and a milkshake. Brandon likes Milkshakes! He was grunting for a bite immediately after each bite. What a whiny pants!

And then, I work till 7:00 4 nights a weeks(sucks, I hate it, but I'm trying to get used to it) so Darren picks Brandon up and feeds him dinner and then a little while later I'm home. Well, Darren thought it would be a good idea to give Brandon some sugar filled Froot Loops. At least they have Fiber :-/ !

Today Brandon turned one! Happy Birthday! He also got his first haircut by Mommy. He looks so cute! After the haircut we went to Sears to get his picture taken. We spent over a hundred dollars for prints because all 13 poses were so cute! Stay tuned for those pictures.

Seattle Trip

Earlier last month we took a trip to Seattle. Neither of us have been there before so we were excited to go. Also this would be Brandon's first vacation, airplane and all. Plus we were going to meet Becky's parents in Seattle. They went on a Alaskan cruise and then we met them in Seattle for a few days. Although Becky and I were very nervous and anxious with taking Brandon on his first trip, everything worked out fine and we all had a great time.

The week before we were there Seattle had record breaking heat in the 90s and 100s but luckily it cooled off down to the 70s and 80s when we got there.

Monday, June 29th, 2009 was our 7 year anniversary. This year we didn't forget.

Becky had the day off with Brandon and after my softball game (we lost) we went to Cafe Rio with Matt and Brittany. Then we cooled the night off with a Jamba Juice. Nothing special but at least we remembered our anniversary.

The best day in my life was the day I married my wife. Just seems like yesterday when I put that ring on her and said those two words. Can't wait for our 50th anniversary. I love you honey!

Last Sunday we met up with friends at the Living Traditions Festival downtown and had some good eats. It was really nice to see everyone. Then we took Matt and Brittany with us to go to a Bees game. Brittany took the cutest picture of Brandon at the game(Thanks Brittany). His fingers are really long already but they look freakishly long in this picture. And thanks Brittany for buying Brandon his first baseball cap!

When getting ready for work I watch the news in my room. Well, I was ready to leave my room, so I needed to turn off my closet light. I grabbed the t.v. remote off my bed to turn off the closet light. I actually pointed the remote towards the closet. I think that I even clicked the power button a few times wondering why the closet light wouldn't turn off.

How am I so lucky? My big boy treats me so well. He's a great cook, he does laundry and he tells me he loves me all the time. He lets me take long bubble baths and he...he just thinks of me first before he thinks of himself. My little boy is going to be a good man because of him.

My little boy treats me well too. He gives me smiles even when I don't ask for them. Sometimes he just sinks his little head down in my shoulder when I'm holding him and then he looks up and smiles. I can't get enough of it. Everyday is Thanksgiving because everyday I am thankful for my boys. My life would just not be right without my boys.

Hi all. Sorry we haven't updated in a while. We have been taking some really cute pictures lately. I just need Darren to post them to the blog. Yep, I'm still too stupid to get the pictures off the camera and onto the computer. I did take a funny picture with my phone this morning that I'll post though. Here's the story behind it:

When we picked Brandon up at daycare the other day one of the girls told us how he spit up one of his feedings. I feel so bad that other people have to clean up that mess. I love the daycare and if we could afford it we'd be going with it fulltime. Right now Brandon is only there 2 days a week and that's expensive enough. The other 3 days my mom and sisters were watching him. I feel bad to burden my mom and sisters for much longer so we are going with an in-home babysitter. We just started taking Brandon to the babysitter this past Monday and I am really happy with it. Brandon is always so happy when we pick him up and she seems to keep his runny nose clean. At daycare they have lots of babies to watch and can't wipe his nose all day long so the snot dries up under his nose and I hate that. I think it will be nice for Brandon to have more consistency too.

Well, anyways, so Brandon spit up all of one of his feedings the other day at daycare. They always give us a slip of paper saying when he napped, when his diapers were changed and when and how much he ate. Well I looked at the feeding that he spit up and they fed him 7 ounces. Brandon usually only eats like 5 ounces at the most. Sometimes he is fine with 4 ounces. So, this morning I wrote on a post-it to only feed Brandon 5 ounces at each feeding and I put it on his forehead. I thought it would be really funny to just hand him over with that post-it on his forehead. Instead, I took the post-it off of his head and put it on his little box thing at daycare.

So, Friday March 27th was my birthday. I'm 29 now. Can't believe I'm going to be 30 next year, but I want to be in my thirties. I'm sure I'll say different a few years into my thirties. We spent the day going to lunch with Darren's parents at the restaurant his dad works at which is Kowloon in West Valley, then we went to the Autorama at the South Towne Expo Center. Not too exciting but Darren gets in for free since he works at the Salt Palace and some of the older time cars were neat to see. AND it was something to do indoors on a cold windy March day. Then we went to dinner with my family at Crackerbarrel.

.....On a side note, my hair looks really red in these pictures. I just colored it about a week ago and it does look a little red in real life but not as red as in these pictures. I think the lights at the Expo center are really bright and made my hair look a bit orangy.

Over the weekend

I know, I haven't posted in forever. It has been a very emotional time for me. Not because anything catastrophic has happened but because I have gone back to work. Actually if you ask me being at work and not getting to be home with my baby is a catastrophe. I came back to work on March 9th. I cried on the way to work after Darren and I dropped off Brandon for the first time. My mom watches him on Monday's. He goes to daycare 2 days a week on Wednesday and Friday. I'm sure it would have been much harder to leave him if I would have had to drop him off at daycare the first day, so I'm glad to have been able to leave him somewhere where he would be loved and kissed all day long. Just typing this makes me tear up. I miss my baby boy so much. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Oh yeah, except for meeting and marrying Brandon's daddy Darren. I have a baby daddy haha.

Brandon is the cutest thing ever. He will probably be rolling over in a couple weeks. He gets halfway over and then goes back. The other day at my mom's he was trying to rollover and he got frustrated and started to kinda cry. Mostly a frustrated cry. I know I'm mean but it was funny. He likes holding onto my hands and standing up on my lap. And then when I try to sit him down he just tries to stand back up. Lately he's been a little stuffy and when he coughs he sometimes spits up his latest feeding. It's so gross.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday season. For us, we just took it easy this year with the new baby. I took off work from the 23rd of December until the 5th of January. Becky was sick right before Christmas but luckily that only lasted a few days.

Yesterday Brandon turned 4 weeks old. I can't believe how fast one month has gone by. Becky loves being a mommy and she is doing a great job.

Today Brandon is two weeks old! It seems like just yesterday (which seems like 5 minutes ago) that I was shaking out of being scared but mostly from the anesthesia. A c-section was something that I never thought would happen to me. Just a few days before Brandon was born I actually was reading the 'labor and delivery' section of 'What to expect when you're expecting' book and I totally skipped over the c-section portion. I just figured that 'well I better read about how to push and everything about that'.

So here's what happened pretty much:

On Thursday, Nov 6th, I was bleeding a little bit so I called the doctor and asked them what to do. They asked me if I had felt the baby kick that morning and I said no so they told me to go to labor and delivery at the hospital so that they could run some tests. I seriously thought they would check for a heartbeat and maybe a couple other things and then send me back home or to work(but I would have used that as my excuse not to go back to work). I had no idea that I wouldn't be going back to work for a few months. So, they hooked me up at the hospital and checked a couple things on me and the baby every few hours and it seems as though my blood pressure was getting kind of high. So, the nurse came in after a while and said that my doctor wanted to induce me. I thought that was a scary moment, but I had no idea what the next few hours held for me. They started the pitocin and broke my water on Thursday night and then around midnight they started having me push which was working a little. The doctor finally came in after a while of pushing and they tried the suction cup thing on the baby's head which I thought would totally work and I still wish that it did work. So obviously the suction cup thing didn't work and the doctor said that I needed a c-section. Now, THAT was the scariest moment of my life. To just know that I would be soon cut open and awake to feel it was mindblowing. The biggest part of the c-section that I remember is shaking profusely. The saddest part is that when I got back to the room I couldn't hold the baby because I was still shaking.

Brandon is such a good baby. He is the most perfect thing I have ever laid eyes on. He is our little miracle. I actually am getting used to waking up at night. I think that it's because I get to wake up to someone I love so much. Poo diapers aren't even that bad to change but only because I'm changing them on my little boy. I still don't want to change another kids diaper. Like, ew, their mom can do that haha.

So I was totally right about Darren. He IS the best DADDY in the whole world. Darren took off 3 weeks from work to be with me and Brandon and he has been the biggest help. I'm a little scared about him going back to work but I'll figure it out. Darren has even given me time to take a nap all by myself during the day.

I'm doing pretty good. My back hurts like crazy though. I thought that was supposed to stop once the baby was born. I'm not too happy that I will have a permanent scar for the rest of my life but I'll get over that. The first couple days in the hospital were rough. It was an accomplishment when I went the bathroom all by myself for the first time haha.

Brandon Charles Lee was born on November 7, 2008 at 2:05 am. He weighed 6 lbs 8 ozs and 19 3/4 inches long.

Mommy is fine after a tough ordeal with a C-section. She'll be leaving the hospital hopefully on Monday.

On October 11th, my friends Brittany and Rebecca(thanks girls) had a baby shower for me and baby Brandon. Oh yeah, for anyone we haven't told, the baby's name is going to be Brandon Charles Lee. We had some good eats(a very yummy salad and some amazing dips) and I received so many wonderful gifts. Thank you to everyone who came and an extra thank you for the gifts. Darren and I appreciate everything that was bought for us so much.

Just look at how cute my older sister Amanda's kids are. I tried getting a non-blurry picture of Boston, but he just moves around way too much that this kinda blurry picture was the best I could get.

Funny story about going to my mom's house last night. Brittan(my sister's husband) drops my 7 month old nephew Boston off at my mom's on Tuesday mornings. Well, Darren found a post-it note in my mom's living room and told me to read it. It said 'Brittan, I'm in the bathtub. Come on in.' Darren and I made everyone else read it and we cracked up. It was so funny. My mom says that she did not intend for it to sound the way it did but, I don't know, maybe something is going on there.

Happy birthday Darren!!! I love you way too much! You are the #1 best husband in the world and everyday I feel like it's my birthday because I get to spend another day with you.

So yesterday while leaving the eye doctor around 2:30 pm I noticed something in the road at the intersection of Fort Union and 900 East. I couldn't make out what it was until I got closer. Turned out to be a giant boulder about two and a half feet wide just sitting in the road between lanes. Although I didn't see it happen, the boulder fell off a truck in the middle of the intersection. Surprisingly nobody hit the rock. The workers turned around to try and move the rock using the truck and chains but were unsuccessful as you can see. The cops showed up to direct the backed up traffic. After about 20 minutes a tractor showed up to move the boulder and back into the truck.

Becky and I decided to go to Wendover Saturday night. The bad news is we're not millionaires. The good news is we broke even. Becky had fun playing slots and blackjack. I just stuck to blackjack. Becky and I took my nephew Michael and his friend Nick to the baseball game Monday night. The weather was perfect. Becky had a snow cone. And the Bees won. Tara and her husband Adam and the kids Abby and Andrew happened to be at the game too. Adam's sister Tami sang the National Anthem at the game. She did a really good job.

Well, Becky and I have been painting the interior of the house. With the help of Becky's dad (thanks Chuck) most of the hard stuff is done. Vaulted ceilings are a pain. We took a couple days off plus the weekend and painted for four days straight starting on July 17th. Even Chuck was nice enough to take a couple vacation days to help us. Now I just need to finish the rest of it. uhhggg!

So, I had Darren take some pictures of me the other night to post, but we just need to get them online. Took them on the camera and not with my phone. I don't know how to put pictures online from the camera and need Darren for that. So, I will have 26 week pictures posted soon.

In the meantime, Darren and I have been very lazy about finishing our painting. We painted the living room and dining room a few weeks ago but have failed to finish the kitchen and 1/2 bath. We will post pictures soon of before and after. Now, I just need ideas on how to decorate. So, after we post pictures, if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Don't be offended if I think your ideas are stupid. You just might have no taste...hehe... =-)

Wednesday Becky and I went to our favorite chinese restaurant after work. It's called Little World and it is the closest thing to authentic chinese food as you can get around here. It's a hole in the wall just like the ones in chinatown. Here are a couple of our favorites.

Well, it's been a while since Becky and I have blogged. Either we've been busy or lazy. Maybe a little of both.

Not much going on. Went to a baseball game a few weekends ago. Thanks to Matt and Brittany for the tickets. Chris and Jenny Greenwood also came. Before the game we satisfied one of Becky's cravings by going to Training Table.

Bees lost. But it was fun!

22 weeks pregnant

So, yesterday I was wearing a pair of pants at work that fit everywhere but the belly area. So, the pants were completely unzipped and upbuttoned while at work. I had a really long shirt on under my button up shirt, so no one could tell that my pants were wide open in the area that no one would want to see. On my lunch I walked over to Mimi Maternity(I work at a huge office building at the North end of Gateway) and a girl that works there told me about this stretchy material thing that looks like a tube top but you put it around your belly. I guess they call it a bella band at some stores but it's called something different at Mimi Maternity. So I put the tube top on my belly area and it was like a miracle. My pants stayed up and I didn't have to worry about continuing to pull down my undershirt all day.

Is Moldy Cheese Good For You?

Becky and I made breakfast burritos last night for dinner. We put scrambled eggs and cheese in it. (We didn't have any ham, dammit!) And we use these raw tortillas you can buy from Costco. (Thanks Matt and Brittany.) You just cook the tortillas on a pan for a few minutes on each side. Only thing was was the shredded cheese had a sell by or use by date of like April 28 or something. It looked okay until Becky pulled out a clump of mold. She threw the clump away and we used the rest of the cheese. It did taste funny, like a stronger, more pungent taste. Oh well, I'm not sick yet.

Monday after a Holiday weekend

Well, today was back to work after a long, relaxing holiday weekend.

We started the weekend having dinner at the Kyoto japanese restaurant on Thursday. Although expensive, it is one of my favorite japanese restaurants. Becky likes it too.

Can you believe we did nothing on July 4th. Maybe a little house cleaning but that was it. We didn't even go out to see fireworks. Becky wanted to go to the Bees game but it was sold out because of the holiday and fireworks show after the game.

Saturday Ryan, Kari and Jenna came over for dinner. Becky and I cooked chinese for them. Then we went swimming afterwards. Well, they did, I just sat around the pool since I don't know how to swim. Don't ask. Do they make adult floaties?

Sunday we went to see the Wall-E movie with Ryan, Kari, Jenna, Angie and Kable. It was a good movie. Even though the robots only spoke a few words they were able to make a movie out of it.

After that, we went to Home Depot with Becky's dad to purchase paint and paint supplies. Becky picked out the paint colors. We are going to paint the main level of the house in a couple weeks. Then it was off to Becky's parents for Sunday dinner. Yay!

Braylen and Brooklyn's birthday party

Last night we went over to my sister Mandy's house to celebrate 2 birthdays. Braylen's b-day was June 27th and Brooklyn's b-day is July 8th. We had pizza, cake, and ice cream and Mandy and Brittan had a big huge jumpy house thing setup for the kids. I enjoyed the night holding and playing with Boston.

Anniversary

Funny story-So this last Sunday we had a very active day. We went to breakfast with friends(Brittany and Matt, Rebecca and Doug, and Chris and Jenny) and then they all came to the Utah Arts Festival downtown with us. We were riding in Matt and Brittany's car all day. After the Arts Festival we went to Costco and then Walmart and then Harmons. At Costco, my friend Tiffany(Hi Tiff!) text messaged me and told me Happy Anniversary. I looked at the date and thought 'Oh my gosh, it is our Anniversary'. So I informed Darren of our Anniversary and he totally forgot too. I can't believe we forgot our own Anniversary. At least we had a fun day!
